Saw many Astro boy stuff there and immediately I thought of Chunheng. Wanted to brag about what I saw to him... in the end, he was the one who told me everything about astro =.=
So I was the one being impressed instead of him xD
Well...here's astro's story by Sae:
At the end of ww2 japan was very devastated by the atomic bomb blast, and were very pretty much traumatised. Astro was created, showing another side to atomic science, and kinda captured the hearts of the japanese who needed hope when they were quite hopeless. That's why astro's japanese name is atom. It showed that science, especially atomic, can be used for good too. so it was quite huge at that time....and so it fuelled a huge generation of boys with dreams of building robots, thus explaining Japan's robot technology today. all of the scientists, all of them grew up being inspired by astroboy.
